New Delhi: India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is celebrating his 34th birthday on Saturday, September 14. The star batter was recently elevated to the captaincy in the shortest format after his consistent performances for the Men in Blue in T20Is. Known as Mr 360 for his remarkable ability to play shots across all parts of the ground, Suryakumar has been a vital cog in India’s batting line-up in T20Is in the last few years.
Despite his late arrival in international cricket, Suryakumar has quickly gone on to establish his credentials as one of the best batters in the world in T20Is. The Mumbai batter made his India debut at the age of 31 in 2021 and there has been no looking back for him ever since. He has already been part of three T20 World Cups for India and played a key role in Rohit Sharma & Co.’s triumph in the T20 World Cup 2024 earlier this year.
Surykumar amassed 199 runs in 8 innings for India in the T20 World Cup 2024 at an average of 28.43 and a strike rate of over 135 and was the second-highest run-getter for the team behind only skipper Rohit Sharma.
