New Delhi: Ahead of US Elections 2024 , a recent AtlasIntel poll showed former President Donald Trump leading in all seven critical swing states. Conducted in early November, the survey indicated that Trump currently holds 49% of the national vote, with Republicans enjoying a slim 1.8% lead over Democrats. His advantage in these swing states highlighted the decisive role they could play in the election’s outcome.
The poll gathered responses from nearly 2,500 likely voters, with a majority identifying as female. As the election day neared, attention has zeroed in on pivotal battlegrounds such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, where Trump is showing consistent strength.
In Arizona, for instance, Trump leads Kamala Harris with 51.9% support to her 45.1%. Similarly, he has a 51.4% to 45.9% edge in Nevada and a 50.4% to 46.8% lead in North Carolina.
US states typically fall into one of three categories: Red States, Blue States, and Swing States. Red States have traditionally leaned Republican since 1980, while Blue States have generally voted Democrat since 1992. Swing States, however, remain highly competitive, often decided by narrow margins.
In the 2020 election, for example, Joe Biden narrowly won Arizona by approximately 10,000 votes, highlighting the razor-thin margins that often characterize these critical states.
