Tamil Nadu Exit Poll 2024: Majority of survey shows Annamalai winning Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat

Chennai: According to the Exit poll surveys released by TV9, C-Voter, Axis My India, Chanakya and others on Saturday evening following the culmination of seven-phase voting in general elections showed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)- led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to open its account in Tamil Nadu with around 1-4 seats in the dravidian land for the first time. Significantly, the exit poll showed postive results for K Annamalai, BJP state president winning the Coimbatore seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

Axis My India said Coimbatore a close-call seat. TN BJP chief Annamalai has a very tough fight against the INDI Alliance candidate Ganapathy Rajkumar (DMK). Axis My India survey showed that the BJP Vote Share in Tamil Nadu will be 14%,  NDA Vote Share- 22%, INDIA Vote Share- 46%, AIADMK+: 21%, NDA Seats— 2-4,  INDIA Seat- 33-37, AIADMK -0.

During the 2019 general elections, DMK ally CPI(M) bagged the Coimbatore seat with 45.85 per cent of votes, while BJP’s CP Radhakrishnan was the nearest contender with 31.47 per cent of votes.

Coimbatore, the second-largest city in state witnessed a clash of titans as the saffron party went all out to pull off a surprise in the southern state. The BJP fielded its firebrand leader and state president K Annamalai against former Coimbatore Mayor and DMK leader P Ganapaty Rajkumar, and Singai G Ramachandran of the AIADMK.

Coimbatore is one of the few seats in Tamil Nadu where the BJP party is hoping to win. Notably, the Left party has won Coimbatore three times – 2004, 2009, and 2019, while the AIADMK held this seat from 2014 to 2019.
