Tamil Nadu: Two tribal students crack JEE, qualified to study at Trichy NIT

Tiruchirapalli: Rohini, a student from a tribal community in the Pachamalai hills, made history by getting a place at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. This is the first time in 60 years that a tribal student from Trichy district has made it to NIT Trichy.
18-year-old Rohini cleared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) with 73.8 percent marks and opted for chemical engineering. Her achievement marks a significant milestone for the tribal community in the area.

Rohini’s parents were construction workers. They are moving to Kerala and working to create a better future for their children.

Similarly, another tribal Student Sukanya who hails from Kariyakovil in Salem district has also cleared the JEE exam and will join NIT in Trichy to to study Production Engineering. Notably, Tamil Nadu state government has come forward to pay all the collge fees for both the students.
