Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy CM and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented the Budget for Financial Year 2024-25 at Telangana Legislative Assembly on Thursday. The Budget was introduced by IT Minister Sridhar Babu in the Legislative council.
The document dubbed to be ‘Farmer, Rural and Welfare focused’ allocated majority of the funds to agriculture, welfare, irrigation, rural development and power sectors.
Former Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao also attended the Assembly meeting, marking his first appearance in the House since he became the leader of opposition.
Total Expenditure, Revenue Expenditure, Capital Expenditure:
The total expenditure for FY 2024-25 stood at Rs 2.91 lakh crore out of which Revenue expenditure is 2.20 lakh crore while capital expenditure is Rs 33,487 crore.
Meanwhile, the debt on the state of Telangana at the time of formation was Rs 75,577 crores and it rose to Rs 6,71,000 crore in December 2023.
The allocations for various sectors is as follows:
The allocations for education sector stood at Rs 21,292 crore while Home Department will get Rs 9,564 crore while Rs 5,790 crore will be allocated for roads and buildings. Water and Drainage Department gets Rs 22,301 crore while the FM has allocated Rs 2,762 crore for Industries Department and Rs 774 crore for IT Department.
For agriculture and allied sectors, Rs 72,659 crore has been allocated while Horticulture Department gets Rs 737 crore, Department of Animal Husbandry gets Rs 19,080 crore.

Grihajyoti- Rs 2,418 crore
Public Distribution System – Rs 3,836 crore
Panchayat Raj – Rs 29,816 crore
Mahila Shakti Canteen – Rs 50 crore
Hyderabad Development – Rs 10,000 crore
GHMC – Rs 3,000 crore
HMDA – Rs 500 crore
Metro Water – Rs 3,385 crore
Metro Airport – Rs 100 crore
ORR – Rs 200 crore
Hyderabad Metro-Rs 500 crore
Old City Metro- Rs 500 crore
Development of Musi- Rs 1500 crore
Regional Ring Road- Rs 1,500 crore
Women and Child welfare –Rs 2,736 crore
SC, ST Welfare-17000, Minority Welfare- Rs 3,000 crore
BC Welfare- Rs 9,200 crore
Medical Health Department- Rs 11,468 crore
Transco & Discoms – Rs 16,410 crore
Forests, Environment- Rs 1,064 crore.
