A young man was arrested after he attacked and killed his girlfriend’s parents in Padaharu Chintala Tanda of Chennaraopet Mandal, Warangal district of Telangana, reports said.
The man murdered his girlfriend’s parents, Banothu Srinivas, 45 and Banothu Suguna, 40 after they allegedly rejected his love marriage with their daughter.
The girl’s mother died on the spot while her father died while receiving treatment at a hospital. Deepika, 21 and her brother Madan, 18 were also injured and are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hanmakonda.
According to the police, Nagaraju alias Bunny Chinthalathanda Deepika of Girnibai had been in love, got married and even lived together for three months. The girl’s parents approached the police and after counselling, they sent Bunny and Deepika their separate ways.
She has been living with her parents ever since and has been reportedly pursuing her undergraduate degree at a college in Hanmakonda.
Bunny reportedly developed a grudge on Deepika’s parents for being the reason for their separation and was furious when he learnt that they are looking for arranged matches for their daughter. He stabbed and killed them while they were asleep in the early hours of Thursday morning.
After receiving the information, Narsampeta ACP Kiran Kumar and Nekkonda CI Chandramohan, Chenna Rao, Guduru and Nekkonda police reached the spot and arrested the accused.
