Hyderabad: A Telangana origin woman who went to the United States for higher education died in a road accident in the state of Florida, Tv9 telugu reported.
The 25-year-old woman identified as Guntipalli Sowmya was hit by a speeding car on Sunday in Florida, leading to her immediate death. She had reportedly completed her Masters degree from Florida Atlantic University and was trying to find a job through a consultancy.
As per reports, she had celebrated her twenty-fifth birthday on eleventh of this month.
Soumya’s parents Koteswara Rao, Balamani and other members of her family have requested for assistance to bring her body back to India.
Accidents galore in the US:
In recent times, several such tragic accidents and deaths of Indian students in the USA have been observed, sending shock waves to Indian student community. Andhra origin student at State University of New York (SUNY), Belem Achyuth, died in a bike accident on May 24 while another Telugu student Rupesh Chandra Chintakindi has been missing from Chicago since May 2.
Jahnavi Kandula, who lost her life last year after being hit by a police cruiser in Seattle, is also among the recent deaths of Telugu origin students.
Two other Telugu students, both of whom were 22, were found dead in January in Hartford, Connecticut in their room after inhaling carbon monoxide fumes emitted by a room heater.
