How and when jeans were discovered?

Levi Strauss had established himself in San Francisco with a wholesale dry goods business, importing clothing and fabric to supply the growing communities of gold miners and settlers in the Western states. By 1866, his business had expanded, and he was well-known for his company and his support of the local Jewish community.

Jacob Davis, a customer of Levi Strauss, shared his idea in 1872 about reinforcing work pants with metal rivets at stress points like pocket corners and the button fly to increase their durability. Lacking the funds for the patent, Davis proposed a partnership with Strauss, who agreed. Together, they obtained the patent for the “Improvement in Fastening Pocket-Openings” on May 20, 1873, marking the birth of blue jeans as we recognise them today.

By the 1920s, Levi’s denim waist overalls had become the top-selling men’s work pants in the United States. Over the decades, the popularity of blue jeans has continued to soar, making them a beloved garment worn by people of all ages worldwide.

The small pocket on jeans, dating back to Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis’ patent in 1873, was initially crafted to safeguard pocket watches. Over time, it has evolved from a practical necessity to a distinctive style detail. Today, this pocket serves various purposes, from storing coins and small gadgets reflecting its enduring utility and charm in contemporary fashion.  Fashion Lifestyle News -Fashion Trends, Beauty Tips, Celebrity Party News, Relationship advice, Travel and Food Tips
