Harshit Rana was instrumental in Kolkata Knight Riders’ third IPL title with his exceptional performance with the ball in IPL 2024 this year. Harshit Rana credits Gautam Gambhir for his success

Despite being ignored for selection during his junior cricketing days, Harshit Rana’s determination and passion for the game has paved the path for his further journey. It should be noted that the young pacer was given ample of opportunities by the KKR coaching staff led by head coach Chandrakant Pandit and mentor Gautam Gambhir even though the player faced a one-match ban for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. Now that Gambhir has been elevated to the Indian head coach role, Rana stands his best chance to wear the India cap.

“If I have to name three people whom I am indebted to in this beautiful journey of mine, then it is my father for his efforts, my personal coach Amit Bhandari sir [former India and Delhi pacer] and above everyone else Gauti bhaiyya [Gambhir],” the 22-year-old told news agency PTI.
