Tomato chutney recipe for dosa
Ingredients:
2 ripe tomatoes
1 small onion
2 dried red chillies
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp jaggery or sugar
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves
Steps to prepare at home:
Wash and chop tomatoes into small pieces.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, and cumin seeds.
Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook them for 5-7 minutes, until soft.
To th mix, add turmeric, red chilli powder and salt. Cook for 3 minutes.
For a smooth chutney, you can blend the mixture into a fine paste.
Now take a small pan or tempering ladle, to add little oil, dry chilli, and fry them for a minute.
Pour this tempering over the tomato chutney and mix well.
If you like a bit of sweetness in your chutney, add jaggery or sugar and mix well.
