Top 3 crazy WWE match types that were a hit but might never return

New Delhi: WWE has produced many special matches but here are the Top 3 matches that will not be returned to WWE again. Let’s take a look at them:

1. The Buried Alive match

The Buried Alive match was designed for The Undertaker. The match was designed in a way that the fighter has to beat down the opponent throw him into a grave and bury him under a pile of dirt. The Undertaker came back many times after death in WWE, that why this match revolved around death.

It was like taking the soul of the opponent in the match and burying them like the fighter is dead. The Undertaker lost the Buried Alive match against WWE co-owner Vince McMahon at Survivor Series 2003 due to interference from his brother Kane.

The Undertaker is now fully retired and the Buried Alive match also hasn’t happened since Undertaker retired. The match was properly designed for The Deadman but now most likely Undertaker will not fight in WWE and the match will not happen in the WWE.

2. The Punjabi Prison match

WWE designed a Punjabi Prison match for Indian fans. It was the same as a Steel Cage and Hell in a Cell type of match. The Punjabi Prison was made of bamboo and there were two enclaves in the Prison. There are no rules under the Punjabi Prison as there is no pinfall or submission in the match. The only way to win the match is to escape the bamboo cage.

The rules have been changed multiple times at one time the prison doors will open for a minute before the prison is permanently shut. If the fighter fails to escape the prison then they have to climb the prison to win the match.

The Two bamboo cages have confused WWE fans and they criticised this type of match. The Great Khali started the match as he is of Punjabi origin. The latest Punjabi Prison match was played between Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton.

3. Eye for an Eye match

In the Covid-19 pandemic when fans weren’t [resented in the WWE arena to enjoy the live events. They used to watch WWE events live via screens. WWE took some measures to entertain fans at home and came up with a match type of ‘eye for an eye’.

It was a controversial match type as fighters went for the eye to win the match. WWE used different camera angles to show fake eyeballs but it wasn’t liked by fans as WWE shut down the match type after that.
