New Delhi: Tottenham Hotspur are making moves to appoint Brentford boss Thomas Frank as their new manager following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou. Brentford are currently awaiting a formal approach from Spurs in the coming days. So far, there has been no confirmation from either club regarding any discussions. However, the Danish manager has emerged as the leading candidate to step into the shoes of Postecoglou.
The 51-year-old is already under contract with Brentford until 2027 won’t come cheap, with sources indicating it would cost at least more than £10 m in compensation to secure Frank’s services. That figure could climb depending on how many of his staff members he chooses to bring along with him to North London.

Frank has been a transformative figure at Brentford since taking over in 2018. He led the club to Premier League promotion by winning the Championship play-off final at Wembley in 2021 and has since established Brentford as a stable top-flight club on a modest budget. This season, the Bees finished 10th in the Premier League, seven places and 18 points clear of Tottenham.
Postecoglou’s short-lived success
Ange Postecoglou was sacked on Friday, just 16 days after guiding Spurs to a historic Europa League triumph, which marked their first major silverware in 17 years. However, his success in Europe was overshadowed by a dismal domestic campaign that saw Tottenham finish 17th after losing 22 of their 38 league matches.
Changes behind the scenes
Meanwhile, changes continue off the pitch at Spurs as chief football officer Scott Munn is also expected to leave the club this week following an internal reshuffle. Munn joined Tottenham in 2023 and has played a key role in bringing Postecoglou to the club, The Australian Administrator is now set to depart as part of a broader restructuring under new chief executive Vinai Venkatesham.
Executive director Donna Cullen has also left and former managing director of football Fabio Paratici is in talks over a return to the club. Paratici could make a permanent return once his suspension ends in July. Despite reported interest from the Middle East, Paratici appears keen on returning to north London.
As Tottenham look to rebuild after a turbulent season, the next appointment will be crucial to the club’s hopes of getting back on track in the upcoming season.
