Samson was initially snubbed form all four squads in the Duleep Trophy 2024 and missed the first round of matches. He was later included in the India D team after the India regulars, who were selected in the Test squad for the upcoming Bangladesh series left for the national team camp in Chennai. The Duleep Trophy is a crucial tournament for Samson considering his red-ball aspirations.
