‘Trying my level best to recover’: Mohammed Shami dismisses fake injury reports

New Delhi: Team India’s premium fast bowler Mohammed Shami has dismissed all the fake reports questioning his participation in the upcoming five-match Test series against Australia. Shami last played cricket in the 2023 ODI World Cup and has been out of action since then due to an ankle injury.

He has undergone surgery and is working on his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to be fit in time for the upcoming Test series against Australia. Shami recently dismissed all the fake reports claiming that he has developed swollen knees and his comeback in Team India has been delayed.

The speedster took to his X account and said that he is working hard on his fitness and trying his level best to recover. He further added that neither he nor the BCCI made such statements and requested fans to stop believing in such reports.

Why these type of baseless rumors? I’m working hard and trying my level best to recover. Neither the BCCI nor me have mentioned that I am out of the Border Gavaskar series. I request the public to stop paying attention to such news from unofficial sources. Please stop and don’t… pic.twitter.com/0OgL1K2iKS

‘The stronger I return, the better it is for me’: Mohammed Shami

Earlier in September, Mohammed Shami said that he is working hard to make a comeback in the Indian team and wants to ensure that there is no discomfort when he returns to international cricket. Shami further added that he needs to work hard on his fitness as he doesn’t want to rush his comeback and risk getting injured again.

“I am working hard to make a comeback soon because I know I have been out of action for quite some time). However, I want to ensure there is no discomfort when I return. I’ve to work on my fitness, so that there is no discomfort” Shami said.

“The stronger I return, the better it is for me. I don’t want to rush and risk getting injured again, be it against Bangladesh, New Zealand or the Australia series. I’ve already started bowling, but I won’t take any chances until I am 100% fit” he added.
