New Delhi: The inaugural champions of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) have been united in Ahmedabad for an intense practice session for a 40-day camp. U Mumba team gathered at Wyndham Hotel and Club 07 in Ahmedabad, a total of 21 players from the team started their preparation ahead of PKL 11.
U Mumba head coach Gholamreza Mazandarani and Assistant coach Anil Chaprana also joined the team. U Mumba will kick off their season 11 against Dabang Delhi K.C. in Hyderabad. The 40-day training camp will work on player’s strengths, tactics, and mindsets.
The Head Coach will also work on support staff and players bonding. Experienced players like Sunil Kumar and Parvesh Bhainswal share a great bond and will help coaches form a good young side.
“I’m excited to work with this new squad, We’ve strengthened the areas where we needed improvement. While last season started well, it didn’t end as we hoped. I understand what we need to work on, and that’s our focus moving forward. I’m pleased with the training facilities and the support staff. Head coach Gholamreza said.
U Mumba bought Sunil Kumar at a whopping amount of Rs. 1.01 crores, Sunil was the highest-bought defender in PKL auction 11. Mumba also bought newcomers like Manjeet, Stuwart Singh, and Iranian Amin Ghorbani. U Mumba bought newcomer Manjeet for a whopping Rs. 80 lakhs in the auction and Manjeet will be leading the raiding pack of U Mumba. Mumba only bought two players for more than Rs. 20 lakhs otherwise all players were bought under Rs. 20 lakh bracket.
