New Delhi: The clash between Slovenia and Serbia witnessed a thrilling end to the game as the as the match ended 1-1. Serbians kept pushing till the end and scored an equaliser in the very last minute of the game to spoil the Slovenian party who were ready to celebrate after they took the lead earlier in the 69th minute of the game
Both the teams had their chances as they kept on pushing till the very end of the game and it was pretty much an end to end game where the Serbians had the better chances but failed to take advantage. It was frustrating day for the Serbian attackers as they jus couldn’t find a way to convert the chances that they were getting.
Both the teams were taking the aerial approach with their boxes consantly being flooded by crosses and long passes but somehow the ball just couldn’t find the back of the net until the 69th minute of the game when Slovenia took the lead after a wonderful break that was finished brilliantly by their fullback Karnicnik.
Serbias certainly had the best of the chances but somehow couldn’t take advantage of the great chances that they had espicially in the first half. The Slovenian captain Jan Oblak made some crucial saves to keep his side in the game. The best chance of the first period came for Mitrovic who forced a low save from Oblak.
The chances kept on coming for the Serbians even in the second half but they finally scored the equaliser in the very final minute of the game thanks to a headed goal from Luka Jovic from the corner, making it 1-1 in the fifth added minute of full time to make it one of the most thrilling matches till now.
Above all, it certainly was an end to end matchup which had a thrilling end to to the game as both the teams share the spoils and look forward to their next group stage fixture.

Possessing a brilliant pace and tenacity, both sides carved out solid chances. Cerin and Mlakar saw their efforts getting saved by Rajkovic withing the first eight minutes. This showed Slovenia’s intent as they were looking to get the best possible start to the game.
Oblak had to make a straightforward save to deny Vlahovic’s header. Shortly after, a Tadic corner painfully zipped over the face, jumping up beyond the left post and almost avoiding the hive of bodies nearby.
Both teams had an opportunity to take the lead at the end of the first half. In the 38th minute, Elsnik of Slovenia raced through on the right before striking the post.
Mitrovic was denied by Oblak from close range after he shrugged off his marker from a Zivkovic cross. Oblak kept his side in the game as his save was a crucial one to keep it deadlocked before half time.
It was a close end to end match, and everyone was expecting the same urgency and intent in the next half as both the teams looked hungry to win this match.
It was a lovely give-and-go between Mitrovic and Tadic on the right side, and as the striker attempted to loft the ball over Oblak but the Slovenian skipper made a fantastic stop.
Slovenia repelled yet another Serbian onslaught before Sesko led a counteroffensive. The attacker took his chance from the left side, which was saved by the acrobatic Rajkovic.
Serbia were silenced after the Slovenian full back, Zan Karnicnik scored a wonderfully built goal giving Slovenia the lead. He initially switched it to Elsnik and then just kept running. He wasn’t tracked and the midfielder provided an excellent cross for Karnicnik to tap home and make it 1-0 in the 69th minute of the match.
Mitrovic hit the post just three minutes after the goal was scored. The Serbian strikers attempt was deflected by Karnicnik on to the woodwork.
Jovic headed home from the corner at the very end of the game as his goal levelled the score in the dying minutes to win a point for Serbia. He rose to the delivery excellently to find the bottom-left corner with the last action of the game.
