Italy defeated Israel 4-1 in Udine to maintain their lead in Group A2 and their undefeated record in the Nations League this season. Mateo Retegui’s penalty four minutes prior to halftime broke the tie for the Azzurri, who looked much more lively on the pitch than their opponents. Nine minutes after the restart, Giovanni Di Lorenzo added to the lead, but halfway through the half, Mohamed Abu Fani gave the visitors hope with a goal straight from a corner.

However, Davide Frattesi gave Italy some breathing room in the 72nd minute, and 11 minutes from the end, Di Lorenzo sealed the victory. On November 14, Luciano Spalletti’s team will play Belgium in a draw to guarantee their spot in the quarterfinals. Israel, who have lost four in a row and are yet to open their account for this campaign, travel to France on the same day because they know that another defeat will force them to drop to League B.

Even though they only won by one goal, Germany recorded a well earned 1-0 victory over the Netherlands in Group A3 of the UEFA Nations League when the final whistle blew in Munich. Die Mannschaft maintained their first half dominance well into the second half, showing some good tanacity on the pitch while having Gnabry and Kimmich’s attempts misdirected. Leweling, who had been cruelly denied by VAR in the first half, then came up to score the match winning goal for the home team and cap off an incredible international debut.

The breakthrough appeared to finally wake up the visitors, as they did manage to create a few major chances to get back into the game with two outstanding efforts from Simons and Malen that were denied by the crossbar and Baumann, respectively. Overall, it was much too late for the Oranje to attempt to match Germany, who lead their Nations League group by five points and leave the Dutch trailing, tied with third-place Hungary.

France yet again defeat Belgium 1-2, as the final whistle blew in Brussels and the home side were left frustrated yet again against the Les Bleus. It was almost a tale of two penalties in the first half. Shortly after 20 minutes, Saliba accidentally wiped off Openda, and Tielemans skied his effort. Thirty-five minutes in, Kolo Muani put away a cool attempt following a handball from Faes, but Belgium was determined to get back on track.

Openda’s close-range header from a Castagne cross was awarded prior to the first half after VAR consideration, but the lead appeared to shift once more after the interval. Kone scored before the hour, but his goal from the bottom right corner was chalked off for a foul during the build up. But three minutes later, Kolo Muani scored his second goal of the match, so this was only a prelude. Digne’s lovely left-sided cross sent him home with style. Despite Tchouameni’s second yellow card complicating the final exchanges, France defeated a wasteful Belgian team.
