New Delhi: The Australian fighter Quillan Salkilld made his mark in the UFC as in his debut fight, he knocked out Indian star Anshul Jubli in just 19 seconds. Salkilld’s bout opened the UFC 312 event and he set the tone high after his fight.
Salkilld only hit one clean strike to Jubli and the Indian couldn’t recover after that shot. He won the Fight of the Night bonus worth $50,000 and it was a dream debut for the Australian in the UFC.
The 19-second knockout could be the fastest knockout of 2025. Jubli didn’t have any answers for Salkilld’s right hand and his return couldn’t go his side.
The stoppage from the referee in the Jubli’s bout also sparked controversy as after caught with a right hand punch from Salkilld, Jubli was down to the ground and grappled the leg’s of Salkilld but referee stopped him and declared Australian fighter as winner.
After the fight, Jubli stated that he was in full control, and after being hit with Salkilld’s punch, he intentionally grappled his legs and he was in a conscious position but the referee stopped him.
Two UFC stars also win Fight of the Night bonus at UFC 312
Apart from Salkilld’s performance, Tallison Teixeira impressed everyone in the main card as he knocked out Justin Tafa in just 35 seconds. Tafa is a well-known UFC fighter in the heavyweight division and Texeira was making his debut in the UFC.
Teixeira pushed Tafa and caught him with a perfect elbow which blew Tafa and Teixeira finished the fights with the follow-ups strikes and won the fight by knockout.
Kody Steele also won the Fight of the Night bonus as he collided with Rongzhu in a hard-fought three-round fight. The fight was in the featherweight division and both fighters showed a great performance on the feet.
