New Delhi: UFC Middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis is all set to defend his championship against Sean Strickland. The middleweight clash will headline the UFC 312 event in a five-round contest.
This will be Du Plessis’ second title defense after winning the championship from Strickland. Both fighters collided earlier in 2024 and Du Plessis defeated Strickland in a hard-fought five-round via split decision.
After losing the fight, Strickland battled out against Paulo Costa and brought him back into the winning column again. Both fighters are coming from a win and it will be a great contest between both fighters.
The Women’s Strawweight Championship will also be on the line as Champion Zhang Weili will defend her title against number 1 ranked Tatiana Suarez in the co-main event.
Justin Tafa will also make his return to the octagon as he will battle out against Tallison Teixeira in the heavyweight division. Both fighters are currently unranked in the heavyweight rankings.
An Indian star will also feature in the UFC 312 event as Anshul Jubli will be taking on Quillan Salkilld in the early preliminary card. The fight will be in the Lightweight division and this will be an important fight in Jubli’s UFC career.
