New Delhi: Amidst a flop show by Indian stars on their Ranji Trophy comeback, Ravindra Jadeja shone on his return to red-ball domestic cricket with a sensational five-wicket-haul in Saurashtra vs Delhi, Elite Group D match in Rajkot.
Playing his first Ranji match since January 2023, Jadeja ran through the Delhi batting line-up, finishing with sensational figures of 17.4-2-66-5 on Day 1 of the Ranji Round 6.
Jadeja and his veteran spin-bowling teammate Dharmendrasinh Jadeja (3/63) spun a web around Delhi batters to bowl out the visitors for a paltry 188 in 49.4 overs at the Niranjan Shah Stadium.
Delhi skipper Ayush Badoni played a lone hand with 60 off 78 balls while Yash Dhull also contributed 44 runs. Mayank Gusain’s 45-ball 38-run cameo down the order helped reach Delhi near the 200-run mark.
Meanwhile, star wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant failed miserably on his Ranji return. Pant, one of the several superstars of Indian cricket returning to red-ball ball domestic cricket, was dismissed for 1 (10 balls) by Dharmendrasinh Jadeja.
