British Prime Minister Keir Starmer told attendees at major UN climate talks on Tuesday that addressing climate change could bring opportunities as well as challenges and would be essential for the UK’s future national security, energy independence and economic stability.
Speaking on the second day of the COP29 summit in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, Starmer announced a new target to reduce the country’s greenhouse gas emissions by at least 81% on 1990 levels.
