Mumbai: The captivating solo musical play ‘My Name is Jaan’ was staged in Delhi’s Shri Ram Centre on Saturday evening, January 18, beautifully bringing to life the legacy of India’s iconic ‘Gramophone Girl,’ Gauhar Jaan. Actress Arpita Chatterjee delivered a powerful solo performance, portraying the celebrated artist’s journey with grace and depth. The play captured the well-known and untold aspects of Gauhar Jaan’s life.

Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, attended the event and commended Arpita Chatterjee for her portrayal of Gauhar Jaan. He expressed his admiration for the way the actress brought such an important historical figure to life with elegance and authenticity.

“Bringing a historical figure like Gauhar Jaan to life with such authenticity and elegance is truly commendable,” he said. “My congratulations to Arpita Chatterjee for her brilliant solo performance.” He encouraged the staging of more such performances and commended Arpita for her solo act, calling it a performance of the highest calibre.
