New Delhi: Veteran Sri Lanka cricketer Angelo Mathews has followed the footsteps of Indian stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli after confirming his retirement from Test cricket. On a social media post on Friday, Mathews said that he the opening match of the Test series against Bangladesh next month would be his last assignment for the Lankans in whites.
Mathews also confirmed in the same post that he will continue to represent Sri Lanka in white-ball cricket and would be available for selection. The veteran cricketer has called it quits after representing the Sri Lankan team for 17 long years.
