Georgia: Former U.S. President Bill Clinton made an unexpected stop at a McDonald’s outlet during his visit to Georgia, where he was campaigning to rally support for Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the November elections. A worker at the fast-food chain failed to recognise the former president until he introduced himself.
Clinton’s Surprise Visit
A video that has since gone viral on social media shows Clinton standing at the counter of the McDonald’s outlet as the worker tried to figure out who he was. Clinton extended his hand and introduced himself, at which point the worker, in shock, screamed, “Oh my God! I like him!” She then left the counter to give him a side hug.
Other workers stood by, some recording the interaction on their phones. After the initial surprise, the worker took a few pictures with Clinton while he chatted with other employees at the outlet.
Campaigning for Kamala Harris
Clinton’s visit to Georgia was part of a campaign effort to garner support for Harris, particularly in one of the key battleground states. His stop at McDonald’s also attracted attention following Harris’s recent revelation in an interview about her time working at the fast-food chain as a student. Harris shared her experience, noting that many Americans rely on such jobs to support their families.
The incident quickly gained traction on social media, with users reacting to the lighthearted moment as Clinton continues his efforts to boost voter turnout ahead of the elections.
