New Delhi: Indian batting mainstay Virat Kohli on Sunday achieved a remarkable milestone of playing his 300th One-Day International match. He completed the mark during India’s final group stage match against New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy played at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

Kohli was, unsurprisingly, named in the Rohit Sharma-led Indian playing XI for the fixture, which was the 300th appearance for the Delhi-born cricketer, who made his first international appearance in the same format in August 2008.

Kohli became the seventh Indian cricketer to feature in 300 ODI matches, joining the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly , and Yuvraj Singh. The legendary Tendulkar leads the charts with 463 ODI appearances for India from 1989 to 2012.

Kohli has played 123 Tests, 300 ODIs, and 125 T20 Internationals for the Indian national team, accumulating to 548 matches across formats.

There was much talk about Kohli’s form ahead of the Champions Trophy though he made a half-century against England in the final ODI in Ahmedabad.

Virat Kohli achieved a remarkable milestone, playing his 300th One Day International (ODI) match against New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy. This placed him among an elite group of seven Indian cricketers to reach this landmark, following in the footsteps of legends like Sachin Tendulkar.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
