Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma lead India’s practice session in Pune ahead of 2nd NZ Test

New Delhi: Team India led by star batter Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma started their practice session in Pune on Tuesday ahead of the second Test match against New Zealand on October 24. The Kiwis beat the Men in Blue by 8 wickets in the three-match series opener in Bengaluru and Team India would be keen on winning the second game to keep the series alive.

While most of the Indian team members reached Pune on Monday, Kohli joined his teammates a day after on Tuesday. Both Kohli and Rohit were seen in the nets polishing their batting skills for the all-important match. The rest of the players of the team were also seen in the practice session, sharpening their skills for the crucial clash.

A pic surfaced on social media site X which saw head coach Gautam Gambhir guiding the Indian team members who were all sitting in a circle on the field. It will be essential for Gambhir as a coach that India wins the the second game of the series and showcase their courage against a much-better side than Bangladesh.

Team India members spotted during practice session

The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravindra Jadeja among others were also spotted in the ground. Shubman Gill, who was deemed unfit for the first match due to a neck problem, was also seen in the practice session giving a strong signal of his inclusion in the forthcoming contest. A perfect frame was captured which saw Kohli, Rohit, Gill and Bumrah sitting and chilling together during a break in the practice session.
