New Delhi: Virat Kohli was spotted catching up with former India head coach Rahul Dravid in a heartfelt reunion ahead of the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Kohli was seen sharing a light with Rajasthan Royals head coach Dravid, who has been travelling with his team despite being injured.
Kohli and Dravid were part of the Indian dressing room when the Rohit Sharma-led side won the T20 World Cup trophy last year. India defeated South Africa in a thrilling final in Barbados to clinch their second T20 World Cup crown as Dravid ended his tenure as India head coach on a high. Under Dravid, India also reached the 2023 ODI World Cup final unbeaten before losing to Australia in the summit clash.
While Dravid stepped down from his role to pave the way for current head coach Gautam Gambhir’s appointment, Kohli retired from T20Is after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. Dravid is currently coaching the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. In a video shared by RR on social media, the former India captain was seen embracing Kohli as the duo reunited ahead of a blockbuster clash in IPL 2025.
Kohli was also seen having a fun conversation with Dravid as Sanju Samson stood nearby. The fans were left in awe of the camaraderie shared by the legendary duo.

RR, RCB aim to return to winning ways
Both the Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be looking to return to winning ways when they lock horns against each other at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday, April 13. Both RR and RCB have made mixed starts to the season. While RCB have managed three wins in their first five matches, Rajasthan Royals have secured two wins in their first five games.
Both teams are heading into the clash on the back of a defeat in their last game. While Rajasthan Royals lost to Gujarat Titans by 58 runs, RCB were beaten by Delhi Capitals at their home in their last outing. Kohli has been in fine form for RCB this season, but his acceleration has often been a concern for the team. Kohli has so far scored 186 runs in 5 matches for RCB this season at an average of 46.50 and a strike rate of 145.31, including two fifties.
