WATCH: Bizarre scenes as team left with 10 fielders after angry walkout of bowler

New Delhi: Bizarre scenes unfolded during the third and final ODI between West Indies and England at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados when fast bowler Alzarri Joseph did something that has been witnessed before on a cricket field.

The WI pacer ignited a massive controversy in the series decider after a heated spat with his captain Shai Hope. After an apparent disagreement over field placement with his skipper, Joseph made a dramatic exit. Joseph’s angry walkout stunned his teammates, support staff and spectators.

The shocking events unfolded in the fourth over of England’s innings which was a wicket-maiden. Joseph dismissed Jordan Cox with a rip-snorter and didn’t concede a single run to give the hosts a perfect start. However, after finishing the over, he stormed off the field leaving everyone in the ground stunned.

Joesph’s exit meant West Indies were left with only 10 fielders on the ground for an entire over. The fast bowler returned to the field after the fifth over.

WI seal series with crushing win

After early setbacks, Phil Salt and Dan Mousley scored vital half-centuries to help England overcome a poor start to reach 263/8 after being sent into bat.

At the mid-innings, it looked like a decent score on a track that offered plenty of help to the fast bowlers. But Brandon King and Keacy Carty had other ideas. The duo added 209 runs for the second wicket to help the hosts record a series-clinching eight-wicket victory.

King scored 102 while Carty finished on an unbeaten 128 after hitting the winning boundary as West Indies crossed the line with seven overs to spare.

Carty’s maiden ODI ton was laced with 15 fours and two sixes. Meanwhile, King hit 13 fours and one maximum.
