TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth term on Wednesday.

 

Governor Justice Abdul Nazir also administered oath to Janasena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan as Minister in the Naidu cabinet and Nara Lokesh, son of Chandrababu Naidu, also took oath as Minister.

 

Several other ministers as well including state president Achchennaidu (Tekkali) and Kollu Ravindra (Machilipatnam) Nadendla Manohar (Tenali), Satyakumar (Dharmavaram), Vangalapudi Anitha (Payakaraupeta), Ponguru Narayana (Nellore City), Nimmala Ramanaidu (Palakollu), NMD Farooq (Nandyala), Anam Ramanarayana Reddy (Athmakuru), Payyavula Keshav (Uravakonda) took oath.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his cabinet colleagues Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, J P Nadda and several other leaders and prominent personalities were present at the ceremony.

Pawan Kalyan and his brother Chiranjeevi shared a heart warming moment with PM Modi as the trio posed for a picture after the swearing-in ceremony.

 

Chandrababu Naidu’s tenure as a politician:

Chandrababu Naidu entered politics in 1978 as a Congress MLA from Chandragiri and served as a minister in Tanguturi Anjaiah’s cabinet. He joined TDP in 1982 and won as an MLA for 8 consecutive times from Kuppam Assembly constituency. He was the CM of undivided Andhra Pradesh in 1995, 1999 and bifurcated AP in 2014. He served as the leader of opposition from 2004-14, 2019-24.

The TDP won 135 Assembly seats and 16 Lok Sabha seats in the recently concluded elections. In alliance with Janasena and BJP, the TDP now has 164 Assembly seats and 21 Lok Sabha seats. TDP is a key ally in the NDA government with 16 MPs as BJP was unable to form government on its own.
