New Delhi: The star striker Kylian Mbappe imitated Legendary Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo’s celebration after the French forward gave Madrid an early lead in the fifth minute of high-intensity Super Spanish Cup 2025 final El Clasico in Jeddah.

Mbappe beat Alejandro Balde and struck in the right bottom corner of the goal to get the early lead, marking the 26-year-old’s first El Clasico goal. Mbappe’s strike was not enough as Barcelona thrashed Madrid 5-2, lifting the 15th Spanish Super Cup trophy.

Apart from scoring the goal, the French striker completed eight out of nine dribble attempts against Barcelona. He completed 15 out of 19 passes and made one key pass, also created a big chance, and has won 11 out of 15 duels, as per FotMob. Mbappe had the least touches 39 of any outfield player to play for 90 minutes.

After the match, Carlo Ancelotti said that only Kylian Mbapee played pretty well for Real Madrid, saying, “Kylian Mbappe played a good game. The rest, let’s forget it.”

The goal would surely have added some redemption after he was caught offside eight times in his debut, El Clasico, earlier in the season, in which Madrid lost 0-4 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Mbappe leads Los Blancos’ scoring with 14 goals and three assists in all competitions so far. The 26-year-old made a slow start in the white shirt but has silenced his critics as he has stepped up when it matters most for Madrid.

Mbappé has scored in all three finals for Madrid this season. He found the back of the net in the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final, and now the Spanish Super Cup final. The France international released the pressure from the shoulders of Madrid players, but they failed to capitalise on the same and lost another match to their arch-rivals, FC Barcelona.

Kylian Mbappe scored his first El Clásico goal in the Spanish Super Cup final. He has scored 14 goals and provided three assists so far as a Real Madrid player.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
