New Delhi: India will lock horns with South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on June 29, Saturday. Both teams are unbeaten in the tournament and are on the cusp of becoming the first team to win an ICC T20 World Cup with a 100% win record. India have won seven matches in the tournament with one match washed out in the league stage whereas South Africa are on an eight-match winning streak in the ongoing event.
Both teams will be aiming to end their ICC trophy drought as South Africa will play their first ICC World Cup final while India last won an ICC trophy way back in 2013, under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
Rain has been a regular issue in this tournament as four matches had been washed out without any ball bowled and many matches had rain interruptions during the game. India’s semi-final clash against England was also interrupted by the rain and now the weather forecast for the final also predicts thunderstorms and rain in the match hours.
Meanwhile, videos have gone viral on the internet of Barbados receiving heavy rainfall, casting fears on the marquee clash. Fingers are crossed for the weather to be cleared before the toss time.

India vs South Africa weather forecast
According to Accuweather, “Cloudy, winds gradually subsiding and humid with a thunderstorm in parts of the area,” is predicted. There are thunderstorms between 6 am to 8 am local time, with rain chances at 51%. The toss might get delayed due to the wet outfield which is scheduled at 10:30 am local time. But the chances of rain will fall down to 30% during the match hours.
