New Delhi: Friday evening saw a drastic change in the weather of New Delhi as strong winds formed a dust storm in several areas of the national capital, including the Old Delhi area where the Arun Jaitley Stadium is located. Mumbai Indians (MI), who were training at the ground when the storm suddenly broke out, were forced to leave the field, and the situation soon turned chaotic.

The training session turned into absolute mayhem as players and coaches ran for their safety, and ultimately, former MI skipper Rohit Sharma had to come to his team’s rescue. Rohit, who is well-known for his comical timing and humour, stood near the boundary line and screamed “come back… come back…”. Although it was all fun and games but the situation looked pretty dangerous with the banners flying out in the air.

The franchise posted a video of the incident on social media as pacer Deepak Chahar, head coach Mahela Jayawardene, and Lasith Malinga were seen sprinting back to the dugout as Rohit urged his team to come back quickly. Rohit also humorously blasted the cameraperson, leaving his fans in splits.

The camera was just focused on the MI opener which led him to shout, “Abey mera kya le raha hai, woh le (Why recording me, take that shot)” while pointing at one of the stands of the stadium which was getting severely impacted by the dust storm.

MI’s campaign so far

The Mumbaikars are currently on a two-match losing streak and will hope not to make a hat-trick of losses on Sunday, when they face Delhi Capitals (DC), for whom it will be a homecoming. Hardik Pandya’s captaincy hasn’t been going as per the plan as MI have just a single win to their credit and have crumbled to four defeats in the ongoing season.

Tearaway pacer Jasprit Bumrah marked his return in the previous MI game, but it seems it hasn’t motivated the side, and with Pandya’s captaincy approach getting questioned, MI will have to make many things go right to rise their rankings from the current eighth spot.

MI’s training session was cut short on Friday evening when a dust storm broke out in Delhi leading to a complete mayhem at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, with Rohit Sharma, at his comical best, calling his teammates back.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
