It is notable that UCLVs cannot just berth at any port, and Mundra Port is among the select ports that could have accommodated such a large ship. The MSC Anna bears the flag of Liberia. It started from Singapore for its onward journey, before getting moored at Mundra Port, according to vesseltracker.com.

MV MSC Hamburg at Mundra Port

This is not the first time that Adani Ports operated Mundra Port has berthed a large vessel. Last year, the MV MSC Hamburg arrived at the port with a capacity of 16,652 TEU. Commenting on the development, Adani Ports and SEZ CEO Karan Adani said, “Our Crown jewel Mundra Port welcomed MSC Anna, the largest container ship ever to dock at an Indian port.” The ship’s docking in Mundra Port “highlights Mundra’s unmatched capabilities and a testimony to our nation-building efforts,” said Karan Adani, the son of Adani Group founder-chairman, billionaire Gautam Adani.
