Hyderabad: Eight people were gravely injured when a lift collapsed at Kinara Grand Hotel in Nagole, Alkapuri X Roads in the city on Sunday, Tv9 telugu reported.
The eight guests all aged around 32, were injured when the lift collapsed from the fourth floor to the parking area at around 3 pm in the afternoon.
The injured identified as Veerabrahmam, Ravi Shanker Reddy, Manikanta Gupta, Manohar, Shajeed Baba, Kalyan Kumar and two others received severe bleeding injuries.
The lift doors were broken open and emergency services were called after the guests made loud noises and were moved to Kamineni Hospital, LB nagar for medical treatment.
Nagole Police filed a criminal case against the hotel for negligence and improper maintenance of the lift. An investigation is ongoing to determine the extent to which the hotel is liable in this matter.
Restaurant inspections:
This comes in the background of inspections at various restaurants in the city by the food safety department task force to identify irregularities.
Inspections were held at popular establishments such as Rayalaseema Ruchulu, Rameshwaram Cafe, Kamat Hotel and Hotel Sukh Sagar veg restaurant. Bakeries, supermarkets were also inspected to check the quality of food. The incident at Kinara grand is about maintenance issues.
