New Delhi: Star batter Virat Kohli, who is currently undergoing training to prep for the opening Test against New Zealand, met some of his juniors at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The budding cricketers interacted with Kohli after he wrapped his net session on Monday. The three-match series begins with the opener on October 16 and will serve as a tune-up to the Australia tour for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Kohli had a chat with the young cricketers as he shared his vast experience and wisdom with them. The ace batter was seen having long discussions with the players before heading back into the dressing room. As usual, Kohli was kind enough to gift one of those cricketers his autographed bats as well. The video of the interaction is going viral on social media and fans are lauding Kohli for his generous personality.

Gambhir talks highly of Kohli
Head coach Gautam Gambhir addressed the media on Monday ahead of the opening cash where he talked about several aspects of the team concerning its Test form. One of the talking points was Virat Kohli over whom Gambhir expressed his confidence saying that he is a world-class cricketer. He has that ability to score big against New Zealand in home conditions and carry the form to Australia for the BGT.
India will be playing a total of eight Tests in the coming three months and Gambhir emphasised Kohli’s determination to excel and regain his peak form in red-ball cricket. “See, my thoughts about Virat have always been very clear. He is a world-class cricketer. He has performed for such a long time. He is as hungry as when he made his debut,” Gambhir said.
This year, Kohli has featured in just three Test matches and is still looking for his maiden fifty-plus score. During the recently-concluded two-Test Bangladesh series, Kohli registered scores of 6, 17, 47, and an unbeaten 29 across four innings. His 47-run knock came off just 35 deliveries in the same innings which saw India breaking several of their own Test records in Kanpur.
During one of the practice sessions in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli interacted with young cricketers at the Chinnaswamy as he was seen offering them some advice for the game and even gifted them signed bats.
