New Delhi: Yograj Singh, the father of Yuvraj Singh, seems to be never getting moved on from former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni as he yet again came forward to lambast him, again highlighting the accusation of ruining Yuvraj’s career. Yograj has always been critical of Dhoni for giving fewer chances to his son in the Indian cricket team – a reason why Yuvraj couldn’t play for India more.
Both Yuvraj and Dhoni have shared a great camaraderie on the field, being the backbone of the 2007 World Cup winning team and the coveted 2011 ODI World Cup title. Nothing has worked for Yograj Singh who has constantly blamed Dhoni for destroying Yuvraj’s career and life and revealed that he would never forgive Dhoni for this. He also asked that his son should be awarded Bharat Ratna for playing cricket for India during the cancer days.
“I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He (Dhoni) is my son, a very big cricketer, and I deeply respect him for that, but what he has done against my son, everything is coming out now… it can never be forgiven in life. I have never done two things in life – first, I have never forgiven anybody who has done wrong for me, and second, I have never hugged them in my life, be it my family members or my kids,” Yograj Singh spoke to Zee Switch.
“That man (Dhoni) has destroyed the life of my son, who could have played 4-5 years more. I dare everyone to give birth to a son like Yuvraj. Even Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have said in the past that there won’t be another Yuvraj. India should award him with Bharat Ratna for playing with cancer and winning the World Cup for the country,” Yograj added.
