Weather forecast: Moderate rains to lash Tamil Nadu and Puducherry with strong surface winds

Chennai: Tamil Nadu and Puduvai are likely to experience light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in most parts, the Chennai Regional Meteorological Department forecasted. “Due to the change in speed of westerly winds, Tamil Nadu Puducherry and Karaikal may receive moderate rain today, July 30, and tomorrow. Also, strong surface winds are likely to blow at the speed of 40 km/h. From July 31 to August 4, light to moderate rain may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal,” the weather agency predicted.

Meanwhile, a holiday has been declared to all the schools in Nilgiris district today due to heavy rains.

Weather Forecast for Chennai and Suburbs

The sky will remain partly cloudy for the next 24 hours. Some parts of the city are likely to experience light rain with thunder and lightning. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 36 – 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 27 – 28 degrees Celsius.

Fishermen advised not to venture into the sea
