What a catch! Cricketer leaves fans baffled with unusual effort in ECS Bulgaria T10 – WATCH

New Delhi: ECS Bulgaria T10 tournament continues its run, bringing unusual instances to the cricket world. A recent match between Afyonkarahisar SHS and VTU-MU Pleven saw one such moment where a player took an unorthodox catch that was well within the rule book of the game as the batter had to walk back to the pavilion. The catch left everyone perplexed due to its rare nature as it has never happened before in the history of the game.

It was the 30th match of the T10 tournament which was played at the National Sports Academy Vasil Levski in Sofia where Afyonkarahisar SHS beat VTU-MU Pleven by 64 runs on Saturday. The catch was one of the efforts by the AFK side which helped them win the clash.

It all happened during the VTU-MU Pleven’s chase after AFK scored 104/5 in 10 overs, having opted to bat first. During the fourth over of PLE’s innings, Shakeel Faruki bowled a flighted third delivery which batter Anandhu Krishna heaved too short near the mid-on. All-rounder Kursad Dalyan was near the area and rather than diving, opted to get his foot underneath the ball right before it was to touch the ground.

His foot made the ball bounce back to him which he easily grabbed and made the batter depart. He along with his teammates celebrated the dismissal as PLe were four down under just four overs.

None of the PLE batters could manage a double digit score, the highest being Jassim Raheem’s 9. Mecit Ozturk, Zafer Durmaz, and Faruki were among the pick of the bowlers. They were restricted to 40/8 in complete 10 overs and lost the game by 64 runs. The AFK set a 105-run target o the back of opener Romeo Nath who struck 51 runs off 27 balls and was followed by Abdullah Lodhi who scored 21 off just 9 balls. Alan Jose from PLE picked two wickets while Amal Thomas and Krishna picked one each.
