7. Arguing, Fighting, or Using Abusive Language

  • Ramadan promotes patience and kindness. Engaging in arguments, conflicts, or using offensive language contradicts the essence of fasting.

8. Overeating During Suhoor

  • Eating excessively before fasting can lead to nausea and discomfort during the day. A balanced and nutritious meal is recommended to sustain energy.

9. Lying, Gossiping, or Speaking Ill of Others

  • Prophet Muhammad emphasised that fasting is not just about abstaining from food but also from immoral behaviour.
  • Engaging in gossip, deceit, or speaking ill of others can render the fast spiritually ineffective.

10. Indulging in Unethical or Immoral Behavior

  • Activities such as stealing, misusing the internet, or harming others contradict the principles of Ramadan.

Fasting involves restraint not just of hunger and thirst but also of sight, speech, and actions.
