New Delhi: Investment in the Provident Fund is an important part of your salary. Run by Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), the EPF scheme aims to provide social security and retirement benefits to investors. Both the employee and employer are required to contribute in employee’s account. A minimum of 12 per cent of the employee’s salary is required to be contributed by both of them to EPF account. They can voluntarily choose to contribute more than this limit.
However, there have been reports in the past that many companies have not contributed to their employee’s EPF account. So, if your employee has credited your PF amount, here is what you can do:
How to Check if PF has been credited?
First, employees should check whether their employer has submitted the required amount in their PF account or not. To check the last contribution you can:

What if PF is not credited?
As per the EPFO guidelines, employees are required to credit provident fund payments by the 15th of the every month. If your employer has deducted the PF amount from your salary but has failed to credit it in the PF account, then you can complain to employees’ provident fund authorities. You can file a complaint with EPF i Grievance Management System (EPFIGMS) portal. Or you can approach the EPFO authorities with a written complaint.
Documents required
To file a complaint, you will first need to prove that your PF has been deducted from your salary but has not been credited to your PF account. For this, you need to provide salary slips and EPF statement as proof.
How to File a Complaint?
Here is a step-by-step guide to filing a complaint on the EPFIGMS website
First, visit the EPFIGMS website
Click on “Register Grievance”
Select the status – PF member, EPS pensioner, employer or others.
If you have a claim ID, then Enter it. Otherwise, select no.
Enter the UAN details, security code and click on “Get Details”.
Click on “Get OTP”. You will receive this OTP on your mobile number registered with EPFO.
Enter the OTP and click on submit.
Enter personal details
Now, click on “PF account number”
Select the type of complaint. To submit document, click on “Add”.
Complaints will be posted to “Grievance Details”.
Click on submit to file the complaint.
You will receive an SMS once the complaint is successfully submitted.
