‘What the Duck’: Fans fume after former Pakistan captain accuses India of ball-tampering

New Delhi: Pakistani sports talk shows have no competition when it comes to entertainment and bizarre comments. The kind of content they produce is unlike anything viewers have seen before. Yet, they manage to outdo themselves every time.

From former players criticising the current Pakistani team to current players slamming the ex-players publicly to experts openly talking about the internal politics in the team and the Pakistan Cricket Board, the television and YouTube shows in Pakistan always present the content with a no-holds-barred approach.

What the experts say on the panel makes sense sometimes. More often than not, it doesn’t. In the series of bizarre statements made by Pakistani experts, the latest comes from a legendary player, who was the batting mainstay for the Pakistani cricket team for several years.

Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former Pakistan cricketer, made a strange comment that left the Indian fans fuming. Inzamam, on a telivision show, claimed that India pacers like Arshdeep Singh have been consistently tampering with the ball in their 2024 T20 World Cup campaign. The former PAK skipper also said that India’s bowlers are altering their match balls in order to get reverse swing.

Inzamam and Saleem Malik, during a show at 24 News HD, pointed at Arshdeep’s reverse swinging balls in India’s Super Eight clash against Australia on June 24 and claimed that the 14th or 15th over of a game was a bit too soon for a fast bowler to get reverse swing.

You must know this person. This is former Pakistan captain Inzamam ul Haq, who is also known as Aloo.
He was the best batsman of his time and after retiring he has become a Maulvi.

Now, as fundamentalist Muslims often do not digest India’s success easily, He too is not liking… pic.twitter.com/e8fT06JRhT

Pakistani experts never fail to disappoint

There have been no shortage of bizzare coomments from Pakistani experts. During the 2023 ODI World Cup in India, Hasan Raza claimed that India used some chips inside the ball, pointing at Mohammed Shami’s success in that tournament. His remarks was later slammed by his own former teammate Wasim Akram.

While Pakistan were knocked out of the group stages of the ongoing T20 World Cup, India have entered the semifinals undefeated. The Men in Blue face England in a blockbuster last four clash in Guyana on Thursday.
