Mumbai: Gupt Navratri, a festival dedicated to worshipping Goddess Durga in her many forms, will begin on the first day of the bright fortnight of Ashadh month. Every Gupt Navratri, which occurs twice a year, has distinct significance in Hindu traditions, particularly for tantric practitioners.
As part of Gupt Navratri, devotees perform rituals and recite mantras in order to dispel ailments, sorrows, and faults. On the first day, the Kalash is established, a symbolic act that symbolises the presence of all divine beings within the Kalash.
In this year’s festival of Gupt Navratri, the Punarvasu Nakshatra coincides with the festival of Gupt Navratri after decades. Devotees observe the worship of Goddess Durga’s ten Mahavidyas. It is very important to establish the Ghata (Kalash) on the first day of Navratri. Copper, brass, or clay vessels are commonly used for this purpose. In order to please Goddess Durga and fulfil the devotee’s wish, the Kalash must be new and pure.
Ashadha Navratri Kab Hai
During Gupt Navratri in the month of Ashadh, the Ghata should be established from 5:11 am to 7:26 am on July 6. In case you are not able to perform Kalash Sthapana during this period, you can also perform it on the same day between 11 am and 12 noon.
Gupt Navratri Puja Vidhi
After completing the Puja, the Kalash used for worship is immersed in a river. The Kalash should therefore be constructed of clay, considered the purest and most sacred material. To prepare the clay Kalash, you’ll need the lid, coconuts with stalks, sacred thread, Ganga water, red cloth, and sacred thread, along with rice grains.
Ensure that the clay Kalash does not have any black spots, as they may negatively affect the sanctity of the Puja. The Kalash should always be placed in the northeast direction (Ishan Kon), as any other direction will invite negative energies into the house.
Set up a Kalash that is broken or defective at any cost, as it may enrage Goddess Durga. For the duration of the nine-day festival, the Kalash should not be moved either accidentally or intentionally. Please avoid using black soil or dirty water during Kalash Sthapana.
