New Delhi: With Budget 2025 all set to be presented on February 1, Railway stocks – Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), Ircon, IRFC, BEML, Railtel, Concor and others are in focus as reports suggest that the government will announce the increase the capital expenditure for Indian Railways by 15-20 per cent in the upcoming Union Budget.

RVNL and Ircon share price rallied on January 16 (Thursday) after reports in regards to capital expenditure emerged in the media. It may be noted that the railway stocks declined significantly after recording a stupendous rise in 2024.

Ircon, Rites, Railtel shares jump

With positive sentiments doing rounds in regards to the Railway Budget, RVNL shares jumped around 10 per cent, reaching Rs 410 on Thursday. It touched its all time high of Rs 647 on July 15, 2024.

  • Ircon shares went up 14.21 per cent on 16th January and reached the level of Rs 217.01 per equity share. Its 52-week high is Rs 352.
  • RITES shares increased by around 4 per cent and closed at Rs 270.90.
  • The IRFC stock also gained 4 per cent and touched the level of Rs 143.10. It’s all time high is 229.05 which it reached on July 15, 2024.
  • RailTel shares jumped by 8 per cent and reached the level of Rs 408.50. Its all time peak is Rs 617.8.
  • BEML shares appreciated around 3 per cent and closed at Rs 3,594.45 apiece on January 16.

A jump of around 15 per cent was recorded seen in the shares of private company Jupiter Wagons. It closed at Rs 491.70. The shares of Titagarh, Texmaco, Oriental Rail, Container Corporation of India and Ramkrishna Forgings also gained on Thursday. IRCTC shares gained marginally and closed at Rs 764.
