New Delhi: Star Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan won’t be a part of the Test cricket for the Afghanistan cricket team till November 2024, as per a recent development. This makes it clear that the Afghan stalwart is not available for the upcoming one-off Test against New Zealand which is scheduled from September 9 to 13 in Greater Noida, India.
He is also doubtful for the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe, scheduled in December along with three ODIs and as many T20Is. According to a report in Cricbuzz, an Afghanistan Cricket Board official revealed that Rashid will be missing Test cricket till November this year as per the advice of his physician but the board is hoping for the best of the star player.
“Following Rashid Khan’s back operation last year, his doctors advised him to refrain from participating in long-format cricket, which is Test cricket, for one year. We are hoping that he will be available for the two Tests against Zimbabwe in December,” Cricbuzz quoted Afghanistan Cricket Board chief executive Naseeb Khan as saying on Friday.
Was Rashid recently injured?
