New Delhi: It is now more likely that UFC GOAT Jon Jones will feature last time in the octagon at the UFC 309 event. The UFC heavyweight champion will collide with Stipe Miocic for his next fight, Jones was seen at UFC 306 Noche and told Clocked N’ Loaded that his fight against Miocic will be ‘going to be the last time’ and after that, he added ‘more than likely’. He didn’t announce any retirement fight for himself but given his age 37 and it will not be a surprise that Jones will retire after his Fight against Miocic.
Jones hasn’t fought since 2023 and the last time he went into the octagon he defeated Ciryl Gane and won the UFC heavyweight title. But after his injuries and age factor, he didn’t fight anybody and now on November 15, he will be defending his heavyweight title.
Jones has been a pound-for-pound no.1 fighter for a long time and his legacy is unmatchable by any fighter in the UFC. The Jones vs Miocic fight was set up for November 2023 but Jones pulled out of the fight due to a toe injury. Miocic is also 42 years old and his last win came in the UFC way back in March 2021 and fans are thinking that Jones will beat Miocic and will quit the sport on a high note.
No ‘Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall’ fight
The next big thing in the UFC heavyweight division is Tom Aspinall who is a killer in the octagon and defeated all fighters in the first round. After his recent win against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304, fans were assuming that Aspinall would fight against Jones for the Title. It will be a hell of a match for fans to see Jones and Aspinall share the octagon but now Jones’s statement has unveiled it is more unlikely that this dream fight will not happen anytime soon.
Jon Jones announced that he will ‘more than likely’ retire after Stipe Miocic’s fight at UFC 309 in the Madison Garden, New York on November 17, Sunday. UFC Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
