Washington: As Republican candidate Donald Trump inches closer to the White House with counting of votes being underway for the US Presidential election, the 78-year-old former President held a mega rally in Florida before the formal announcement of the result.
While addressing a giant gathering of his supporters, Trump reiterated his election slogan “Will make America great again.”
Trump appeared on the stage with a fist rising in the air amid loud cheers. He was joined by his family members, including his wife Melania Trump.

He told the crowd that he hoped, one day, they would look back and consider this “one of the most important days of your life”. “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” he went on to say, referencing his party winning the Senate back from the Democratic Party.
Trump Thanks His Family
The former US President expressed gratitude to his family members as he nears victory. Trump also thanked his wife Melania, calling her the First Lady. He also applauded her book, saying she has “the number one best seller in the country”. “She’s done a great job,” he said, adding she “works very hard to help people”. He also thanked his “amazing children,” naming each of them as they shared stage with him.
“We are going to help our country heal. We are going to fix our borders. We made history for a reason tonight. We overcame obstacles that nobody thought we could. Our country has never seen anything like this before,” Trump said at the rally. Trump also thanked the US for electing him as 47th and 45th president.

“I want to thank the millions of hard-working Americans across the nation who have always been the heart and soul of this really great movement. We’ve been through so much together, and today you showed up in record numbers to deliver a victory. … this was something special. And we’re going to, we’re going to pay you back. We’re going to do the best job … we’re going to turn it around. It’s got to be turned around. It’s got to be turned around fast. And we’re going to turn it around. We’re going to do it in every way, with so many ways, but we’re going to do it in every way. This will forever be remembered as the day the American people regained control of their country,” the Republican added.
Greatest Political Comeback Ever: Vance
Trump also invites his VP pick JD Vance to address the massive crowd. After taking to the mic, Vance described Trump’s campaign as the “greatest political comeback ever”.
A Star is Born: Trump’s Shoutout to Musk
Trump also gave a shoutout to billionaire businessman Elon Musk, who he said has become a major part of his campaign. Describing the world’s richest person Elon Musk as a “new star” of the Republican Party, Trump said “He is an amazing guy… We spent two weeks in Philadelphia and different parts of Pennsylvania campaigning,” he said. Trump describes the Tesla CEO as a “wonderful” guy.
