New Delhi: UFC star Ronda Rousey opened up about her health status after she announced her second pregnancy. Rousey claimed that she is not ‘neurologically fit’ enough to compete in the Octagon and she might not return to UFC ever again and will now look into her children’s. Rousey was one of the best fighters in the women’s division and motivated women to take part in combat sports.
Rousey was on top in 2015 but in the latter half of the year when she fought with Holly Holm, she suffered a horrifying head kick and was knocked out in the fight in front of the 56,214 fans at the Marvel Stadium, Melbourne, Australia. This loss was a huge setback in Rousey’s career as she fought one more time after that loss in the UFC and then she never came back in the UFC.
“It’s nice to feel missed, I guess. But it’s not happening. I’m not neurologically fit to compete anymore at the highest level. I just can’t. Rousey in an interview with Insight podcast.
“You just get to a level where the neurological injuries you take accumulate over time. They don’t get better,” she added.
Rousey wrote in her autobiography named ‘Our Fight’ that she suffered many concussions in her professional career. She didn’t tell anybody about the concussion when she was in the UFC as she didn’t want to ruin his combat sports career.
Ronda Rousey’s WWE career
After her exit from UFC, she joined the WWE organisation where she was seen as a future WWE champion. She started her WWE career with a big push and became the first woman to main-event WWE’s biggest event WrestleMania. But her WWE career didn’t last long and she exited from the WWE in 2023 and reports claimed that after her exit from WWE, she joined in the independent circuit.
