Batters apart from Mostary fail
Apart from Mostary’s knock of 36 and a 29-run innings up the order by opener Shathi Rani, other batters of the Bangladesh side failed to show up during the match. Much was expected from Murshida Khatun but she could only muster 12 runs in the first innings. Taj Nehar went back to the pavilion for a duck while skipper Nigar Sultana, after much efforts, could only contribute 18 runs. For Scotland, Saskia Horley shined with three wickets while Katherine Fraser, Olivia Bell and Kathryn Bryce picked up one wicket apiece.
Apart from wicketkeeper Sarah Bryce, who remained unbeaten on 49, none of the Scottish batters could really contribute in the chase as they skittled against the Bangladesh bowlers. For Bangladesh, Moni picked two wickets while Rabeya Khan, Fahima Khatun, Nahida Akter and Marufa Akter claimed a wicket apiece. Bangladesh next face England while Scotland lock horns with West Indies in the next contest.
