New Delhi: WWE’s first-ever mega event in Germany WWE Bash in Berlin became the highest-grossing arena show in history. The WWE event in Germany was sold out as it had been 27 years since Berlin hosted a WWE show. This was one of the smallest fight cards ever in WWE history as there are only five fights on the event. But those five fights were worth watching for the German fans.
The show started with Undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes was ready to face Kevin Owens to defend his title. It was a friendship between both but later it changed to a heated rivalry. Owens was attacking Rhodes on the ribs multiple times and was in full control of the fight. Owens then assaulted Rhodes’s chest and hit a flying kick to him, but Rhodes fought back and got the cheer from the crowd and gave an Apron powerbomb and stunned Owens. At last, Champion hit his signature move The American shot and pinned Owens to retain his title.
CM Punk got his revenge against Drew McIntyre in a brutal strap match. McIntyre attacked Punk before the fight started and hit a couple of body shots at him but Punk fought back and turned the tables in favor of him by hitting GTS to McIntyre and took the fight outside the ring.
McIntyre lifted Punk onto his shoulder and took him to the corner where he nearly got the win but Punk locked a sharpshooter and McIntyre tapped but it didn’t matter in the strap match. Punk hit three back-to-back GTS pulled out the win and made his first WWE win in more than 11 years.
Gunther defended his WWE Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton via pinfall. German fans are waiting for Orton’s match as Orton was cheered most in the fight and he performed well also but he didn’t cross the line against Gunther. Gunther was remarkably on top against Orton and made Orton to sleep and retained his title. After the match, Gunther made a great gesture by handshake to Orton in the post-match.
