WWE legend The Undertaker reveals why he didn’t join UFC despite considering MMA move

New Delhi: WWE legend The Undertaker is one of the most popular wrestlers of all time and has been a name synonymous with the success of the company. However, there was a time when The Undertaker considered leaving WWE to join the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) during the 90s. UFC was making waves after its introduction and The Undertaker was tempted to compete in the Octagon.

WWE superstars making a transition to the UFC is nothing new as many have done it successfully and not so successfully in the past. While Brock Lesnar dominated in both WWE and the UFC, the likes of CM Punk and Batista failed to make an impact. Former WWE champion Bobby Lashley too enjoyed an impressive run after switching to UFC.

He won 15 out of his 17 fights in the Octagon before resuming his WWE career again. While many WWE superstars have tried their hands in UFC, not many know that The Undertaker too considered an MMA move in the early days of his career. The Undertaker recently revealed he might have fought in the UFC but the unpredictability of the violence and his lack of experience in amateur wrestling forced him to stay away.

“Honestly, this is what a lot of people don’t know,” Mark Calaway a.k.a. The Undertaker told Busted Open Radio.

“UFC is coming up big at this point. They’re growing. If I had an amateur wrestling background, there is a good chance I would have tested those waters. I felt like I would have been able to get my stand up on point. I have no idea, I might get my a– smashed,” he added.

I probably would have tested those waters: The Undertaker on fighting in the UFC
